KUALA LUMPUR, 13 MARCH 2025 – The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), in collaboration with Nazsoft Tech Sdn Bhd and with support from the Royal Malaysia Customs Department (RMCD), today launched MADANI Digital Trade (MDT), an integrated virtual platform designed to enhance the global reach of Malaysian exporters. The official launch was held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) and was officiated by YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, the Minister of Investment, Trade & Industry (MITI).

MDT offers a wide range of features, including business matching capabilities, an e-marketplace, and access to valuable market intelligence on grants, training, market access, and trade-related solutions. This platform aims to empower Malaysian exporters, especially SMEs, to better navigate global markets and overcome challenges posed by market volatility.

Minister YB Senator Tengku Zafrul highlighted the strategic importance of digital trade in Malaysia’s economic transformation. He stated, “Digital trade plays a crucial role in driving Malaysia’s economic growth, aligning with the MADANI Economy Framework and MITI’s New Industrial Master Plan (NIMP) 2030. It supports Malaysia’s commitment to the ASEAN Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA), positioning the country as a regional leader in digital trade. The MDT platform is key to enhancing SMEs’ market reach, boosting trade efficiency, and advancing digital adoption.”

In line with this, RMCD has partnered with MDT to provide seamless access to essential trade services such as customs declaration for imports, exports, and e-commerce, enhancing compliance and facilitating smoother trade operations. The collaboration leverages advanced technologies like automation, artificial intelligence (AI), and data analytics to streamline customs and regulatory processes, ensuring that Malaysian businesses stay competitive in the global digital economy.

YB Dato’ Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican, Chairman of MATRADE, emphasized the role of digital tools in fostering market access and intelligence. “The MDT platform is an important initiative that can empower exporters of all sizes, enabling them to access global markets and diversify successfully. Our goal is to increase the digital economy’s contribution to Malaysia’s GDP from 19.1% in 2019 to 22.6% by 2025,” he noted.

Dr. Muhammad Nazrol bin Zawawi, CEO of Nazsoft Tech, also praised the platform’s potential, emphasizing its role as a comprehensive information hub. “MDT consolidates essential information, regulations, and services, creating transparency and improving trade efficiency. It’s a game-changer for Malaysian exporters, particularly MSMEs, by streamlining processes and providing the resources they need to succeed.”

Key features of the MDT platform include:

  • Virtual Engagement Platform: Connects businesses with MATRADE’s Premium Buyers and International Sourcing Programmes (INSP), facilitating B2B matching and identifying global buyer opportunities.
  • e-Marketplace & Market Aggregator: Enables MSMEs to showcase their products and services globally, adapting quickly to market trends and consumer demands.
  • Member Portal & Digital Trade Hub: Offers exporters a one-stop resource center for grants, training, trade procedures, and information, helping reduce cross-border trade costs and facilitating entry into emerging markets, including the green economy.
  • Business Solutions Center: Provides access to innovative solutions in ESG, IR4.0, trade financing, digital marketing, virtual assistants, and more, fostering business growth and market diversification.

Additionally, the platform introduces MIVA, an intelligent virtual assistant that provides 24/7 real-time support, assisting users in navigating the platform and maximizing their experience.
