Kuala Lumpur, 17 February 2025 – Malaysia’s digital economy is poised to play a pivotal role in strengthening the nation’s competitiveness, driving innovation, boosting productivity, and introducing new business models across industries.

Anuar Fariz Fadzil, CEO of Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), highlighted that the country’s forward-thinking digital policies, especially in artificial intelligence (AI) and talent development, have established Malaysia as a key regional hub for digital innovation.

“Through public-private partnerships, Malaysia is enhancing its leadership in AI and quantum computing, creating transformative impacts in key sectors such as manufacturing, finance, and services,” Anuar stated.

MDEC remains committed to helping Malaysia achieve or exceed its target of 25.5% digital economy contribution to GDP by the end of the year. This will be supported by initiatives that drive digital transformation, foster talent development, and encourage technology adoption across businesses.

“Our focus is on boosting the competitiveness of SMEs, attracting high-quality investments, and preparing a digitally skilled workforce to meet future demands,” Anuar added.
