A landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aims to enhance collaboration in smart manufacturing, digital transformation, and R&D initiatives.
Kuala Lumpur, 14 November 2024 – The Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) and the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) have entered into a strategic partnership to promote smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0 adoption among Malaysian businesses.
The partnership was formalised on 8 November 2024 at Wisma FMM in Kuala Lumpur, with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by Tan Sri Dato’ Soh Thian Lai, President of FMM, and Ir Sunny Lee, Board Chairman of ASTRI. The ceremony was witnessed by Mr Jacob Lee, Chairman of FMM’s Industry 4.0 and Digital Economy Committee, and Ms Libera Cheng, Director General of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Jakarta.
The MoU marks a significant milestone in fostering collaboration between Malaysia and Hong Kong in the field of advanced manufacturing technologies. Under this agreement, both organisations aim to facilitate the adoption of smart manufacturing solutions and create opportunities for Malaysian manufacturers to remain competitive in the rapidly evolving global market.
