KUALA LUMPUR, 11 April 2025 – Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Huawei Malaysia) today formalised four strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with leading Malaysian companies to accelerate the deployment of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and cloud-based digital infrastructure across key economic sectors including e-commerce, logistics, and public services.
The MoU exchange ceremony, witnessed by Minister of Digital YB Gobind Singh Deo and His Excellency Lan Tianli, Governor of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, was held at the Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre. These collaborations mark a significant milestone in Malaysia’s digital transformation journey, contributing directly to the goals outlined by the National AI Office (NAIO) and the nation’s broader aspiration to become a regional tech leader.
Strategic Collaborations Across Sectors
1. E-Commerce Innovation: Huawei Malaysia x TOGL Technology
Huawei Malaysia and TOGL Technology Sdn Bhd (TOGL) will co-develop an AI-powered e-commerce and customer loyalty platform. The platform will combine TOGL’s deep industry insight with Huawei’s advanced AI solutions to enhance user experiences, analytics, and business intelligence.
2. Sovereign Cloud Development: Huawei Malaysia x Skyvast Cloud
In a landmark initiative, Skyvast Cloud Sdn Bhd (Skyvast) will collaborate with Huawei Malaysia to launch Sovereign AI Cloud Infrastructure, featuring:
- Huawei’s Ascend Graphic Processing Units (GPUs) – the first deployment outside of China
- Kunpeng servers
- Integrated cloud platforms and network solutions
Skyvast will lead go-to-market efforts, regional expansion across ASEAN, and application development aligned with local business needs.
3. Smart Logistics: Huawei Malaysia x Tiong Nam
Huawei Malaysia and Tiong Nam Logistics Solutions Sdn Bhd will integrate AI and cloud capabilities into Tiong Nam’s warehousing and supply chain operations. The collaboration aims to elevate operational efficiency, automation, and real-time logistics management across Malaysia.
4. Digital Public Services: Huawei Malaysia x HeiTech Padu x MyEG
In a three-way partnership, HeiTech Padu Berhad, MY E.G. Services (MyEG), and Huawei Malaysia will explore AI-driven digital services for government sectors including immigration and transportation. Huawei will provide:
- AI and cloud computing capabilities
- Private cloud infrastructure
- End-to-end project implementation support
Strengthening Academic Ties Between Malaysia and China
The event also saw the signing of academic cooperation agreements between:
- Guilin University of Electronic Technology and Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah
- Guangxi Minzu University and Tunku Abdul Rahman University
These initiatives aim to deepen academic exchanges, research collaboration, and talent development between Malaysia and China.
