KUALA LUMPUR, April 20 – The three-day JCI Inspire Fest 2025 concluded today with Inspire Environment Day, marking a powerful finale that celebrated youth-led sustainability and cross-sector collaboration in support of Malaysia’s national climate agenda.
Organised by JCI Entrepreneur Metropolitan (JCI E-Metro) in partnership with Radiant, the event brought together youth leaders, government representatives, ESG champions, and community stakeholders to spotlight environmental innovation and action.

Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Affirms Support
Dr. Pubadi A/L Govindasamy, Undersecretary of the Environmental Management Division, officiated the closing on behalf of YB Nik Nazmi bin Nik Ahmad, Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Malaysia.
In his keynote speech, Dr. Pubadi lauded the event for empowering youth as critical agents of change:
“Sustainability is not just driven by policy—it is driven by people. What we see today is the power of Malaysia’s youth taking action through innovation, urgency, and collaboration.”
He further underscored the alignment of JCI Inspire Fest’s initiatives with national frameworks such as the National Policy on Climate Change 2.0 and the Low Carbon Cities Framework.

i-Green Warriors: Leading the Charge in Climate Action
A major highlight of the day was the youth-led environmental campaign, i-Green Warriors, launched by JCI E-Metro to plant 1 million trees across 10 countries over five years.
Key milestones announced include:
- A collaboration with Majlis Bandaraya Pulau Pinang to plant 1,000 trees in 2025
- The first international planting in Chachoengsao, Thailand with JCI Bangkok on 4 May 2025
- The upcoming Sustainable Business Challenge for Youth, encouraging green enterprise and ESG-aligned innovation among Malaysian youth
“This is what we mean when we talk about climate leadership in action,” said Dr. Pubadi.

Recognising ESG Champions Driving Sustainable Impact
Dr. Pubadi also acknowledged organisations that exemplify the synergy between sustainability and business excellence, naming several ESG leaders:
- SATEERA – A biotechnology firm offering wellness-driven sustainable solutions across 14 countries
- EAS Academy – An ESG-focused institution enhancing financial literacy through sustainability education
- Rurutiki – A green lifestyle brand advancing eco-conscious retail and community engagement
“These organisations show us that business success and environmental responsibility are not mutually exclusive—they can thrive together,” he said.

Youth Voices Leading the Future
In his remarks, Mr. Tan Boon Kuan, Local President of JCI E-Metro, reaffirmed JCI’s commitment to nurturing young changemakers through signature programmes such as TOYM, CYEA, SDA, and i-Green Warriors.
“Today’s youth are not just our future leaders — they are our present-day changemakers. We must empower them with platforms, visibility, and real opportunity.”
