KUALA LUMPUR, 4 APRIL 2024 – The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) is rallying Malaysian aerospace companies to join the Malaysia Pavilion at the upcoming Paris Airshow 2025, set to take place from 16 to 22 June 2025 at Le Bourget, Paris. Organised in collaboration with the National Aerospace Industry Corporation Malaysia (NAICO), this strategic participation aims to elevate Malaysia’s global aerospace footprint and position the nation as a key industry player.

The International Paris Airshow, renowned as the world’s largest aerospace and aviation event, serves as a premier platform for Malaysian companies to engage with top-tier global buyers, explore emerging market trends, and forge high-value partnerships. The event presents significant opportunities to integrate into the global aerospace supply chain and strengthen international branding.

Malaysia Pavilion: Showcasing World-Class Capabilities

At Paris Airshow 2025, MATRADE will spotlight 15 Malaysian aerospace companies involved in:

  • Aerospace manufacturing
  • Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO)
  • System integration
  • Engineering services
  • Aerospace education
  • New space technologies
  • Composites and astronautics

MATRADE CEO, YBhg. Datuk Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz, highlighted Malaysia’s rising prominence in the global aerospace market, noting that aerospace exports reached RM5.74 billion in 2024, with aircraft parts making up 83.2% of total exports—a 20.3% increase from 2023. The surge is driven by global demand for fleet renewal, increased air travel, and more efficient aviation technologies. Key export destinations include China, Indonesia, Singapore, the United States, and France.

“Malaysia’s aerospace ecosystem—strong in precision engineering, composites, and MRO services—is uniquely positioned to deliver sustainable, digital, and advanced manufacturing solutions for the global industry,” said Datuk Mohd Mustafa.

He added that Malaysia offers a compelling value proposition as an aerospace hub, thanks to its robust local supply chain, world-class infrastructure, and compliance with international aerospace standards.

A Vision Aligned with National Aerospace Goals

Prof. Ts. Shamsul Kamar Abu Samah, CEO of NAICO Malaysia, echoed the sentiment, stating that the industry generated RM21.7 billion in revenue and employed 29,900 people in 2024. He emphasized that Malaysia’s participation in the airshow aligns with the Malaysia Aerospace Industry Blueprint 2030 (MAIB 2030) and the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030) under the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI).

“We are committed to strengthening the local aerospace value chain and encouraging companies to build strategic international networks,” he said.

Malaysia has been showcasing its aerospace strength at the Paris Airshow since 2017, with 43 Malaysian companies benefiting from previous participations. In 2023, Malaysia stood out as the only ASEAN country with a dedicated pavilion. As ASEAN Chair in 2025, Malaysia is poised to reinforce its leadership in the regional aerospace landscape.
