Friday, 28 March 2025, Tokyo, Japan – The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) is thrilled to announce the outstanding success of Malaysia’s participation in the landmark 50th edition of FOODEX Japan 2025, Asia’s premier food and beverage trade exhibition. Held from March 11-14, 2025, at Tokyo Big Sight, the event proved to be an unparalleled platform for showcasing Malaysia’s premium Halal-certified food and beverage products.

MATRADE led a vibrant Malaysian delegation comprising 11 dynamic companies, supported by the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA), to represent Malaysia at this prestigious trade event. The Malaysian Pavilion was a standout, featuring a wide range of high-quality Halal-certified products, including confectionery, snacks, cookies, premium tropical beverages, seafood, bird’s nest products, Halal-certified coffee, and processed poultry (duck) products.

With 76,183 trade visitors from 70 countries, FOODEX Japan 2025 further solidified its standing as the world’s third-largest food and beverage trade fair. The event hosted 3,000 exhibitors across 3,800 booths, including 2,000 international companies, creating a truly global marketplace for food industry professionals.

The Malaysian participation in the 20th edition of FOODEX Japan exceeded expectations, achieving a remarkable RM264.39 million in total sales. This includes RM1.2 million in actual sales and RM263.13 million in potential sales, far surpassing the initial target of RM40 million. Additionally, the Malaysian delegation secured 313 trade inquiries, demonstrating strong engagement and interest from global buyers. The most popular products among international trade visitors were biscuits & cookies, processed poultry (duck) products, seafood, confectionery, and snacks.
