Kuching, 5 February 2025 – MBSB Bank Berhad (“MBSB Bank”) has donated RM100,000 to support flood disaster relief in Sarawak, reinforcing the bank’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and community welfare. The contribution was made during a visit to Sarawak by the bank’s Board and Management.
At a formal handover ceremony, MBSB Group Chairman Dato’ Wan Kamaruzaman Wan Ahmad presented the RM100,000 donation to Dato’ Sri Dr. Muhammad Abdullah bin Haji Zaidel, Deputy State Secretary of Sarawak (Economic Planning and Development). The funds will be used to assist communities affected by the recent floods and support long-term recovery efforts in the region.
In addition to the donation, MBSB Bank’s senior management engaged in discussions with YB Datuk Dr. Hj. Hazland Abang Hj. Hipni, Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability, and held a courtesy call with Dato’ Sri Dr. Muhammad Abdullah bin Haji Zaidel. The discussions focused on potential collaborations to drive Sarawak’s economic growth, with an emphasis on renewable energy initiatives and sustainable development. Also present were Datu Abang Ahmad Abang Morni, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Sustainability, and Datu Lester Matthew, Director of the Sarawak Economic Planning Unit.
