MRCA Strengthens Ties with Media Partners Through Appreciation Hi Tea for Honouring Media Excellence.

Kuala Lumpur, 23 October 2024 – The Malaysia Retail Chain Association (MRCA) celebrated the media’s invaluable contributions to the retail industry by hosting an appreciation Hi Tea at One World Hotel, Petaling Jaya. The event was a gesture of gratitude to honour media professionals for their role in promoting the growth and success of retail businesses across Malaysia.

The Hi Tea gathering provided a platform for media representatives and MRCA members to connect, network, and reflect on the association’s achievements and future initiatives. At the opening of the event, MRCA President Datuk Ken Phua expressed heartfelt appreciation to the media representatives who attended the gathering despite their busy schedules. During his speech, he highlighted MRCA’s recent accomplishments and shared insights into upcoming events designed to further enhance the retail industry’s contribution to the national economy.

Among the key announcements at the event was the introduction of MRCA’s Chinese New Year Celebration initiative. Datuk Liaw Choon Liang, Chairman of the MRCA Branding Education Charity Foundation, announced that the association aims to raise RM500,000 through this campaign to fund education scholarships. This effort reflects MRCA’s ongoing commitment to giving back to the community by supporting educational development and fostering the next generation of talents.

The highlight of the Hi Tea event was a lively lucky draw session, with attractive prizes generously sponsored by MRCA members. 

Lucky winners among the media representatives were treated to gifts as tokens of appreciation for their dedication and continuous coverage of retail industry developments. The event concluded with a warm and engaging networking session, allowing members of MRCA and media professionals to build stronger relationships and explore potential collaboration opportunities.
