Kuala Lumpur, 8 January 2025 – Qarbotech Sdn. Bhd., a leader in nanotechnology and agritech innovations, has signed Memorandum of Agreements (MoAs) with BlackMountain Capital Pte. Ltd. and PT Iceh Agro Indonesia, marking a significant step in its global expansion. The agreements aim to introduce Qarbotech’s groundbreaking photosynthesis enhancer, QarboGrow™, to Australia and Indonesia, aligning with the company’s mission to drive sustainable agricultural practices and elevate global food production.
Strategic Partnerships to Drive Expansion
BlackMountain Capital, leveraging its strong connections within Australia’s agricultural and plantation sectors, will champion QarboGrow™’s distribution, promoting increased food productivity and sustainable farming practices. Meanwhile, PT Iceh Agro Indonesia will spearhead the product’s introduction in Indonesia, with a focus on enhancing yields in key agricultural regions.
“We envisioned QarboGrow™ not just as a product, but as a catalyst for change in agriculture. It is a tool that addresses the critical need for sustainable, climate-resilient farming, empowering farmers to thrive,” said Chor Chee Hoe, CEO of Qarbotech.
A Shared Vision for Sustainability

Successful Pilot Projects in Indonesia
In Indonesia, Dr. Muhammad Reza Hani, CEO of PT Iceh Agro Indonesia, shared the success of the initial pilot project in Aceh. Spanning 400 hectares of rice fields, the trial demonstrated QarboGrow™’s ability to significantly increase rice yields while boosting farmers’ incomes. Dr. Reza expressed optimism about the long-term benefits of the partnership, stating, “We are confident that future collaborations with Qarbotech will help farmers across Indonesia achieve greater productivity with fewer resources.”
Sustainable and High-Impact Technology
Developed in collaboration with the Institute of Nanoscience & Nanotechnology at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), QarboGrow™ has already proven its efficacy in enhancing crop yields by up to 60%, without requiring additional land. The technology also reduces the reliance on chemical fertilisers, contributing to a significant reduction in environmental impact.
With a valuation of USD 600,000, these strategic partnerships will enable Qarbotech to broaden its reach, introducing QarboGrow™ to new markets and driving key advancements in sustainable agricultural practices worldwide.
The MoA signing took place during Qarbotech’s Appreciation Luncheon, a special event recognising the company’s valued partners and stakeholders. The event was attended by distinguished representatives from Universiti Putra Malaysia, the High Commission of the Republic of Zambia, various government ministries, investment authorities, and ecosystem partners, underscoring Qarbotech’s commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration in the global agri-tech sector.
